In an effort to better serve the information security community, The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education ("The Colloquium") will be releasing two new initiatives that will help to connect information security students and graduates of IS/IA programs with employers who are seeking well-trained security professionals.
In 2012, The Colloquium will initiate a new two-tier partner program that will provide a focused repository for information on IS/IA jobs and will link business partners with direct contacts to the nearly two hundred 2 year, 4 year and graduate colleges that are producing the IA workforce of the future. Currently, 145 of these institutions hold the National Security Agency's designation as Centers of Academic Excellence, and already provide government agencies with rising stars in the security community. (See Centers of Academic Excellence - Institutions)
The first phase of the partner program which is ready for release provides the opportunity for any government agency or business to post current job openings on the Colloquium website (www.cisse.info). Partners will have the opportunity to submit their corporate contact information for job seekers plus links to their corporate website where the job postings are listed. For one annual fee, the partners will be able to update their information on a monthly basis for a 12-month period. This information will be made available to all students and alumni of Colloquium-member academic institutions.
Phase two of the Partner Program will provide access to the lead information security faculty at partner schools, plus information on their program specialization areas (e.g., digital forensics, business continuity/disaster recovery, network security). The goal is to make it easy for the business community and government agencies to find graduates who possess specific skill sets, providing information on the "best and the brightest" information security students across the U.S. In addition, the annual fee for this service will entitle the business to two waived registrations, vendor table space and appropriate signage at the annual Colloquium, and a business profile on the Colloquium Partners webpage for the 12-month period.
