Assistant Professors - Computer Science, Middle Tennessee State University

The Computer Science department at Middle Tennessee State University is hiring three tenure track Assistant Professors.

Middle Tennessee State University Department of Computer Science invites applications for three assistant/associate professor tenure-track positions beginning August 1, 2018. Applications for position 1 - Computer Science (Computational Sciences Ph.D.), Tenure-Track Faculty - can be submitted at http://mtsujobs.mtsu.edu/postings/5760. Applicants for all positions must hold a doctorate degree in computer science or related field by August 1, 2018. All positions require a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. The successful applicant must be willing to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses and engage students (including undergraduates) in research.

For position 1 - Computer Science (Computational Sciences Ph.D.), Tenure-Track Faculty
The successful applicant would have interdisciplinary research interests that fit within the Computational Science PhD program at MTSU. Applicants are invited from all areas of computer science, but we are particularly interested in applicants whose work is tied to solving scientific problems using high performance computing and data mining.

For position 2 - Computer Science, Tenure-Track Faculty
Applicants are invited from all areas of computer science, but we are particularly interested in applicants with a background in high-performance computing, cyber security, networking, mobile computing, or data science.

The Department offers both BS and MS degrees and has close ties with the Computational Sciences PhD Program. The BS with concentration in Professional Computer Science program is ABET accredited. There are over 500 undergraduate and graduate majors.

MTSU is a Carnegie classified Doctoral/Research University (DRU) with over 23,000 students, and is located 35 miles south of Nashville in Murfreesboro, TN.
