In Memoriam

Erich J. Spengler

November 11, 2014

Erich has over 20 years of experience in Information Technology, Education and Business. Many years have been dedicated to leadership roles in technology planning, cybersecurity education, project implementation and professional development in higher education and business environments. In May 2013, the The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education inaugurated the "Erich Spengler Student Paper of the Year" as a tribute to Erich's work in Cybersecurity and his commitment to inspire tomorrow's cybersecurity workforce.

Erich's genius and talents will be missed on national and international levels and the loss of his future contributions will be sorely felt.

The Colloquium recognizes that the protection of information and infrastructures that are used to create, store, process, and communicate information is vital to business continuity and security. The Colloquium's goal is to work together to define current and emerging requirements for information assurance education and to influence and encourage the development and expansion of information assurance curricula, especially at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
