Founded in 1996 as the National Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education, the Colloquium has become the leading proponent for implementing courses of instruction in INFOSEC in education.

In June 2002, the NCISSE expanded its mission to include a greater international participation. To reflect this the organization formally changed its name to The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education or more simply  -- The Colloquium

Initiatives

The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education is dedicated to improving education in information systems security across the entire education and training spectrum.

We have formed several advisory boards and committees to develop faculty and students in each of these areas. If you are interested in managing one of the advisory boards or committees, please let the chairman of the Colloquium know.

The Proceedings were initially developed by Julie and Dan Ryan at George Washington University and now edited by LTC Ron Dodge of the United States Military Academy, West Point.

Question from one of our sponsors

To all educators: The Critical Infrastructure Assurance Group (CIAG) at Cisco has absolutely enjoyed working with all you with regards to all of our programs (equipment donations, security bootcamps, etc.). We continue to strive to assist all of you with your information assurance programs.

With this said, we need your help. We are looking at the next iteration of curriculum that we can teach to faculty that will help your classes. In other words - Security Bootcamp II, The Next Generation! We would like you to respond back to us with your ideas on what type of security related training that we (Cisco) could provide to you. Nothing is off base, all ideas are accepted. We may not be able to meet those ideas, however we can try.

Please send back any thoughts and ideas to ciag-education@cisco.com with a subject line that reads "New Security Training Ideas". That way we will know what is coming in. We will compile ideas for the next few weeks and be letting all of you know what type of training will be available next.

Also, if your school has not taken advantage of the current Security Bootcamp, please let us know so we can schedule a class. Contact Bob Du Charme at bducharm@cisco.com with these requests.
