Eugene H. Spafford is a professor of Computer Science at Purdue University. He is the founder and director of the COAST Laboratory there -- one of the world's foremost dedicated academic centers of research and education in information security. Dr. Spafford is the director of CERIAS, the Center for Educational Research in Information Assurance & Security at Purdue University. This is a campus wide center devoted to education and research into methods of protecting critical information resources.
