Kathleen Kincaid


Kathy Kincaid is the chairman of The Kincaid Group LLC, a consulting firm focusing on information technology security. She is also the chairman of the National Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education, an organization of industry, government, and academia focusing on the enhancement of information security skills and training. Prior to retiring from IBM in 1999, Ms. Kincaid was the Director of I/T Security Programs, heading a corporate-wide initiative to identify and deliver security solutions to customers. She was responsible for managing the global I/T security initiative across IBM including the Secure Way family of products and services for traditional, networked, and Internet Security. Serving in that capacity since 1995, Kincaid led IBM security related efforts and the company's Cryptographic Competency Center, spearheaded the formation of the Key Recovery Alliance and participated in other industry consortiums. Kincaid joined IBM in 1967 as an application programmer in the Media Industry. She has held a number of field and management positions in sales, marketing and development. In 1989, she was named the business area manager for worldwide development and marketing for automation and systems management products developed around the world. In 1992, Kincaid was named Director of the System View initiative for systems and network management products across IBM. She is a graduate of Indiana University.
