Kenneth M. Geide


Mr. Geide is the Chief of the FBI's Computer Investigations and Infrastructure Threat Assessment Center (CITAC). This is a new and forward-looking operational section that joins the FBI's criminal, counterterrorism and counterintelligence investigative jurisdictions and expertise, analytical and technical capabilities, and resources. Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Geide served as the Chief of the Economic Counterintelligence Unit with program management responsibility for all of the FBI's economic espionage investigations. This followed his assignment as Chief of the FBI Counterintelligence and Counterterrorism Training Unit, and the Development of Espionage, Counterintelligence and Counterterrorism Awareness (DECA) Program. A 26-year veteran of the FBI, Mr. Geide has served in FBI field offices in San Francisco, CA; Phoenix, AZ; New York, NY; and Washington, D.C. He has also served two tours of duty at FBI headquarters in the FBI's National Security Division. Mr. Geide has been the case agent - lead investigator and supervisor for numerous sensitive counterintelligence and espionage investigations. In 1992, a field office squad managed by Mr. Geide received a DCI achievement award. Mr. Geide is active in several government and private sector organizations and associations. He is the Chairman of the Computer Law Center, National Intellectual Property Law Institute; member of the Government Security Committee, American Society for Industrial Security; and member of the Private Sector Liaison Committee and High Technology Crime Subcommittee, International Association of Chiefs of Police. He is also a member of the Society for Competitive Intelligence and the High Technology Crime Investigators Association. Mr. Geide is a native of California. He studied mathematics, music and computer science at the University of California; received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of San Francisco, and a Master's Degree for New York University. He as done additional graduate work at Monmouth College, NJ, George Washington University, WDC, and James Madison University, VA. His degrees are in English and History. Mr. Geide and his wife, Cherie, who is an elementary school principal, have been married for 27 years and they have two teenage sons, Michael and Matthew.
