Founded in 1996 as the National Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education, the Colloquium has become the leading proponent for implementing courses of instruction in INFOSEC in education.

In June 2002, the NCISSE expanded its mission to include a greater international participation. To reflect this the organization formally changed its name to The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education or more simply  -- The Colloquium

CISSE13

13th Annual Colloquium: 1-3 June, 2009

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education is in the process of reorganizing to incorporate several standing and single purpose committees.  Dr. Vic Maconachy will host a Birds of a Feather session at the 12th Colloquium on Monday evening, 2 June to discuss the changes in greater depth.  In advance of that discussion, we are initiating two actions:
1.  Soliciting organizations to submit proposals to host the 13th Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (1-3 June).
2.  Standing up a site selection committee to evaluate proposals to host the 13th Colloquium.  (If you are interested in volunteering, we are looking for 2 members from the general Colloquium body - simply email me.)

The Colloquium rotates hosts each year from Academia, Government, and Industry.  In 2009, the host is scheduled to come from government.  In the past, organizations have partnered to host the Colloquium.  For example, previously as the host, CISCO partnered with GA Tech for the location and logistics.  The role of the host typically includes:
- Coordinating with the Colloquium board to establish the Colloquium theme
- Chairing the program committee (Creating the program and coordinating for speakers )
- Identifying and coordinating site location and logistics (the Colloquium support officer will sign all contracts, so you won't need to worry about financials)
- Executing the Colloquium

We invite any organization wishing to host the 2009 13th Colloquium (1-3 June) to submit a proposal containing the items listed below.  Proposals (no more than one page) are due to the committee NLT Monday, 27 May.  Please email the submission to Ron Dodge (ronald.dodge@usma.edu).  Submitters are asked to be available on 3 June to present the proposal to the site selection committee at the 12th Colloquium in Dallas.
