Founded in 1996 as the National Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education, the Colloquium has become the leading proponent for implementing courses of instruction in INFOSEC in education.

In June 2002, the NCISSE expanded its mission to include a greater international participation. To reflect this the organization formally changed its name to The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education or more simply  -- The Colloquium

As our organization approaches its twelfth year since inception, it is always good to take time for some self introspection.  We were founded as a professional society, dedicated to advancing information assurance education through a collaborative vehicle called The Colloquia.  This coming together to share views has come to mean our annual conference.  Is this still sufficient, given the constantly expanding universe of information assurance topics and issues? Is this still sufficient given technology now allows us to meet more frequently in a virtual world.  Is the triad of Industry, Government, and Academia still relevant, or still working?
At this year’s annual gathering, we will begin this self examination. Two sessions are now scheduled:
       Session 1: Monday June 2 – 5:30 – 6:30:  Laying out the issues
       Session 2: Tuesday June 3 – 1:50 – 2:40: Planning for the future
