Founded in 1996 as the National Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education, the Colloquium has become the leading proponent for implementing courses of instruction in INFOSEC in education.

In June 2002, the NCISSE expanded its mission to include a greater international participation. To reflect this the organization formally changed its name to The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education or more simply  -- The Colloquium.

Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation

Papers for the workshop are limited to eight pages in a two-column format. It is essential that authors follow the prescribed length and formatting instructions. Submissions which exceed the prescribed limits may be edited to fit, possibly by deletion of text and/or figures. Authors will be notified only if time permits.
bulletElectronic copies of the paper can be submitted in Word (.doc) or Acrobat (.pdf) format.
bulletAll paper submissions must be blinded for review purposes
bulletManuscripts should be six to eight pages in length. This includes all references, figures, and equations.
bulletAvoid repetition in text.
bulletEquations, unless very simple, should be avoided in the body of the text; instead, they should be included as figures.
bulletAny Greek characters or special notations used in the text body should be clearly identified.
bulletAll terms and symbols, including acronyms, should be defined in the following manner: use the entire name the first time they are mentioned, in lower-case letters, followed by the acronym in parentheses (e.g., "phase-locked loop (PLL)," not "PLL (Phase-Locked Loop)."
bulletSource references should be noted by end notes as described in the formatting instructions at the end of the paper, not as footnotes.
bulletOmit product code numbers or logs in the text or illustrations. It is acceptable, for reference, to indicate them in footnotes.

Guidelines for Illustration Preparation

When submitting electronic versions of papers with figures, please make sure that all figures comply with the following guidance:
bulletAll illustrations should be black and white, with high contrast.
bulletDo not use shading or color in illustrations as they reproduce poorly.
bulletWhenever possible, figures should fit in a single column of the manuscript
bulletDo not submit photographs instead, scan them in yourself and submit electronic versions.
bulletCaptions should be brief, preferably no more than 38 characters.

Information for Speakers

Each presentation room will have a Windows-based computer with PowerPoint . With prior notice by the author, presentation rooms can be equipped with a projector for transparencies. For legibility, please observe the following rules of thumb:
bulletAvoid crowded slides. Do not merely make transparencies of large parts of the paper.
bulletAvoid small characters. We recommend a minimum of 24pt characters in a strong, clear font.
bulletNo commercial logos or advertising matter should appear on slides.
bulletBe sure that slides are clear and sharp, so that they may be easily read in the last rows of a large room.
Papers will be allotted tenty-five minutes, including time for questions. Session chairs will ensure that paper presentations do not exceed their alloted time.
